Solar Power in San Ramon: The Next Big Thing
I was reading an article last week in a leading energy based magazine. The article had special mention about the solar power trends in East Bay and parts of San Ramon. The growth and dependence on solar power in these areas was huge. The most amazing thing was the dependency of homes and businesses on solar power. The concept adapted in San Ramon was fantastic.
It was one of the most unique solar electric systems I had heard of. The typical set up for such a system is to have solar panels installed on the roof of your home or business, and using the sun’s energy to generate electricity in the form of DC, or direct current. Most appliances use alternating current or AC so an inverter is used to convert the direct current to alternating current. One of the most informative things to come out of the article was the climate based alterations made to the solar electric systems. Depending on the climate, many people begin with a grid linked system before eventually moving to 100% solar energy as this works out to be significantly cheaper and is far better for the planet than using grid power.
I hope everyone can follow the lead of San Ramon and opt for solar electric systems.
