Effective January 1, 2006 the California Energy Commission is offering solar power
rebates to California utility customers in the amount of $2.80 per watt for photovoltaics. Incentives will be reduced by an average of approximately 10% annually, declining
to zero in 2017. In addition to this, the Federal Government is offering a $2,000 tax credit. Together, these incentives can pay for roughly 35% of
the cost of a new solar electric power system from Diablo Solar. For our commercial customers, a 30% Federal Tax Credit is available making the subsidized portion of a Diablo Solar
commercial solar systems approximately 50%.

How Our Solar Electric Systems Work
During Sunlight hours the system generates electricity which the household consumes. If the system generates more than is consumed the excess power is sold back into PG&E's grid turning your electric meter backward. These systems start paying for themselves the moment they are turned on. Diablo Solar installs the latest in photovoltaic solar systems using Sharp Electronics and BP Solar panels. We also use SMA Sunnyboy DC to AC solar power inverters.

Notes on Cost
- Every solar power system is different and we provide estimates in-person
- Systems cost anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 after rebates
- The state of California is currently offering large rebates on all photovoltaic solar systems. Currently the State is subsidizing 30-40% of the cost of these solar power systems
- These rebates will not last. Every six months these rebates are scaled down.
- With PG&E's tier pricing structure a system that generates half of a household's consumption can lower the monthly bill up to 75%
Example: A house that consumes 1,200 kWh per month will pay around $200 a month for electricity. After Diablo Solar installs a solar power system the house might draw 600 kWh a month from PG&E, but their bill would only be $50.
